Prosurix App Ensures Authenticity with Direct-to-Consumer Marketing Capabilities

BUFFALO, NY, April 10, 2019 – Prosurix, Inc. will work with Three Chord Bourbon, a handcrafted small batch bourbon whiskey producer founded by rock n’ roll guitarist Neil Giraldo, to place NFC chips from Prosurix onto their bottles in the next few weeks.

Not only do Prosurix chips protect against counterfeiting, a major concern in the wine and spirits industry, the marketing capability in the chips allows Three Chord to tell their story both in words and video easily to the consumer with a wave of a smartphone over the NFC chip.

“We like the ability for the consumer to go directly to our website for the Three Chord story, recipes and a monthly drink feature,” said Three Chord Bourbon CEO Paul Nanula. “Speaking to the consumer at the point of purchase is very important. Prosurix brings instant information and a certain ‘wow’ factor to a brand that we are looking for.”

The tags use a technology called near field communication (NFC). When placed on the bottles, these NFC tags will allow for an extra layer of security to protect against counterfeiting. The tags will also allow for more communication between the distiller and consumers. The chips allow for users to make more informed purchasing decisions, by providing consumers with data, information, rebates, promotion and video at the point of purchase.

Prosurix launched in late 2018 and immediately won a WINnovation Award from The Wine Industry News for their breakthrough technology. Founder Steve Glamuzina, a major New York wine and spirits retailer, saw that the lack of protection for buyers of premium wines and spirits meant an abundance of fraud in these industries and sought an application to disrupt this. Prosurix is the solution.
